What you'll need

Stockroom is one HTML file. There is no installer and nothing to keep running. It needs a database to keep your parts in, and that database is yours.

The short version

  1. Make a free Supabase project. Free tier is plenty for one shop.
  2. Run the schema we publish into it. One paste in their SQL editor.
  3. Open stockroom.html, put your project URL and publishable key at the top, and save.
  4. Open the file on a phone. Add it to the home screen. That is the app.
Be honest with yourself about step 2. If a database schema is not a thing you want to think about, this is the part that will cost you a Saturday. That is exactly what we charge for — we do steps 1 through 3, load a 4,400-row factory cross-reference so a CCC part number finds your bin, print your labels, and push every fix to you without you asking.

Updates

A copy you downloaded cannot update itself. It will notice when a newer version exists and say so once, quietly, in the app. It will never download anything on its own — a parts room in the middle of an invoice does not want a surprise. Come back here and download it again when it suits you.

Shops we host do not have this problem: their copy updates itself the next time it has signal.

What it will not do

It does not replace CCC, Mitchell or Audatex, and it does not try to. It covers the small parts and consumables that never make it into an estimate — the clips, the sealer, the abrasives — which is where a shop quietly eats money.
